The Amazing Thailand Muay Thai Summer Camp 2024, running from July 16 to 28, delivered an immersive two-week experience combining Muay Thai training with cultural exploration. A standout moment of the camp was the involvement of WBC Honorary Champion Bridger Walker, renowned for his heroic act at the age of six.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in collaboration with the World Boxing Council (WBC) MuayThai, EVA Air, and See My Thailand travel agency, recently hosted the Amazing Thailand Muay Thai Summer Camp 2024. Held from July 16 to 28, this inaugural event combined intensive Muay Thai training with rich cultural experiences, offering participants a truly immersive experience.

Participants honed their skills under the guidance of top Muay Thai trainers, who provided expert coaching and rigorous practice sessions. The camp went beyond physical training, as attendees were also introduced to Thailand’s vibrant culture through a series of engaging activities. Highlights included attending live Muay Thai matches at the iconic Ratchadamnoen and Lumpinee Stadiums, exploring famous landmarks, and participating in the sacred Wai Kru ceremony in Ayutthaya, culminating in a special certificate ceremony. These experiences not only enhanced their appreciation of Muay Thai but also deepened their connection to Thailand’s cultural heritage.

A key figure at the camp was Bridger Walker, the WBC Honorary Champion, who is globally recognized for his heroic act of saving his younger sister from a dog attack. Walker’s courage and enthusiasm for Muay Thai left a lasting impact on all participants, inspiring them to push their limits and embrace the sport with passion.

The camp attracted 50 young participants from the USA, ranging in age from 6 to 17, accompanied by their parents or guardians. The program offered a secure and nurturing environment for these children to develop their Muay Thai skills, build confidence, and experience the richness of Thai culture, all while promoting discipline and cultural awareness.

Encouraged by the success of this event, TAT is exploring the possibility of expanding the summer camp to other regions. Future plans may include welcoming participants from Latin America, with a particular focus on Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico. Marketing efforts are set to commence in January, giving families ample time to prepare for next summer’s exciting opportunity.
