The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has unveiled the third edition of its “The One for Nature” campaign, introducing the new tagline, “Leave No Trace Behind.” This initiative encourages travelers to explore Thailand with a focus on responsible tourism, contributing to the long-term sustainability of the nation’s tourism sector.

Mr. Nithee Seeprae, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, said “The campaign reflects TAT’s vision to position ourselves as a leader in sustainable, experience-based tourism. Various activities under this campaign are aimed to create memorable experiences for visitors and contribute to global conservation efforts, while addressing the demand for eco-friendly travel options and ensuring the long-term sustainability of Thailand’s tourism sector.”

The campaign kicked off at SOOKSIAM on the G Floor of ICONSIAM, Bangkok, on August 17-18, featuring eco-friendly activities. Visitors engaged in interactive booths aimed at raising awareness about the campaign, with hands-on workshops that demonstrated recycling and transforming waste into valuable resources.

Following the Bangkok event, the campaign will tour three other major tourist destinations: Ao Nang Walking Street in Krabi on August 24-25, Wualai and Tha Pae walking streets in Chiang Mai on August 30-31, and Ko Samui in Surat Thani on September 14-15.

To further promote Thailand’s commitment to sustainable tourism, TAT invites travelers to participate in an online contest with a chance to win a three-day, two-night sustainable tour package in Thailand. The prizes include one package in Khao Lak, Phang-nga, and two in Phuket, all of which cover round-trip flights (international and/or domestic), accommodations, meals, and activities for two people.

Participants can easily enter the contest by logging in with an email address or a Facebook account, submitting their username and country of residence, and following simple steps to complete an e-postcard. The contest is open until September 15, and the top three entries with the highest votes will be announced on September 17. The prize packages are valid from October 1-20, 2024.

TAT’s “The One for Nature” campaign aims to reinforce the brand identity of Amazing Thailand and emphasize the country’s sustainable tourism trajectory. The initiative seeks to increase awareness, build partnerships with local agencies and communities, and enhance Thailand’s reputation as a premier leisure destination.

By engaging environmentally conscious tourists through various online platforms and channels, the campaign targets quality travelers with high purchasing power and a preference for responsible tourism from regions including Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas.

“We are confident that ‘The One for Nature: Leave No Trace Behind’ campaign will reinforce our “Amazing Thailand, Your Stories Never End” communication message, promoting sustainable tourism within the country. By encouraging travellers to collaborate in preserving tourism sites, we ensure that the memorable experiences of travel are rooted in conserving our environment, natural beauty, and local communities. Ultimately, ‘nature’ plays a crucial role in maintaining Thailand’s status as a top global destination,” Mr. Nithee said.
