ITC Hotels has entered into a management contract with Bhopal’s Lunera Castle Resort & Spa to oversee the historic ‘Lunera ki Sarai’ in Mandu, Madhya Pradesh. The site will soon be rebranded as Welcomhotel Mandu, honoring the rich history and architectural beauty of this celebrated ancient fort city, known for its profound historical importance and captivating legends.
The newly minted Welcomhotel Mandu will boast 94 guest rooms, a restaurant offering meals throughout the day, a signature dining venue, ample meeting spaces, a spa, and a swimming pool. This initiative expands ITC Hotels’ footprint in Madhya Pradesh to about 540 keys, complemented by two existing WelcomHeritage properties in Pench and Pachmarhi, and three upcoming Welcomhotels in Jabalpur, Gwalior, and Bhopal.
Mandu, or Mandav, enveloped by historic stone walls and featuring distinctive gateways, is a magnet for tourists, historians, and art aficionados, drawn by its storied past and architectural wonders. The Lunera ki Sarai, rooted in 400 years of history from the 16th and 17th centuries, is poised to become a key attraction within a short two-hour drive from Indore.
