Harbour Air, North America’s largest seaplane airline, has officially joined the Aeroplan.
Starting today, you can earn Aeroplan points on eligible Harbour Air flights, and beginning in early 2026, you’ll also be able to redeem Aeroplan points for seats on both its seaplane and wheeled aircraft routes.
If you regularly hop between Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo, Seattle, or BC’s coastal communities, this is a meaningful upgrade (and a fun one). Redeeming Aeroplan points for seaplane flights isn’t something you see every day.
A Significant Loyalty Step for BC’s Most Iconic Regional Airline
At the press announcement, Harbour Air’s Chief Commercial Officer Chris Fordyce called the partnership a “step change” in the airline’s offering.
For more than 40 years, Harbour Air has connected the West Coast with fast, scenic, and remarkably convenient flights, often taking you from downtown Vancouver straight into the heart of Victoria, Nanaimo, Sechelt, and more.
Harbour Air also operates in two key locations in Vancouver:
- Vancouver Harbour Flight Centre (CXH), where the signature seaplane departures
- Vancouver International Airport (YVR), where you’ll find both seaplane and wheeled aircraft service
So when Aeroplan redemptions go live in 2026, you won’t just be redeeming points for the usual regional turboprops — you’ll be redeeming for harbour-to-harbour seaplanes, scenic coastal hops, and even cross-border service to Seattle’s Lake Union.
Earning Aeroplan Points on Harbour Air
The earning structure is intentionally simple. On any eligible scheduled flight, you’ll earn:
- 200 Aeroplan points with Harbour Air Flex Fare
- 150 Aeroplan points with Harbour Air Comfort Fare
- 100 Aeroplan points with Harbour Air Value Fare
- No Aeroplan points earned with Hairbour Air Light Fare
This applies everywhere Harbour Air flies — whether you’re doing the classic 35-minute Vancouver–Victoria hop, the ultra-quick 20-minute Vancouver–Nanaimo jump, or heading out to places like Tofino or Whistler.
If you use Harbour Air’s Commuter Pass or Unlimited Explorer Pass, good news: these flights also qualify for Aeroplan points.
Harbour Air Club: BC’s Only Seaplane Loyalty Program
This partnership also builds on Harbour Air’s own loyalty platform: Harbour Air Club, launched in 2025.
It’s British Columbia’s first and only seaplane-specific loyalty program, and it’s designed around simplicity and practical perks rather than complicated mileage math.
Membership is free, and once you join, you’ll earn Club Credits every time you fly. Credits, along with qualifying flights, determine which of the three tiers you land in.
The benefits focus on the things that actually matter for short regional trips: waived baggage fees, complimentary scenic tour vouchers, member-only deals, and priority-style service at higher tiers.
The program feels tailored to locals and frequent business travellers who rely on Harbour Air to commute around the coast.
With today’s announcement, you can now earn Aeroplan points on top of your Harbour Air Club Credits on eligible scheduled flights, effectively stacking two loyalty currencies every time you fly on qualifying fares.
Why This Matters (and Why It’s Fun)
Most Aeroplan partnerships fall into predictable categories: airlines, hotels, retailers, and travel portals. Harbour Air is different.
Where else are you going to redeem Aeroplan points for:
- A seaplane takeoff from downtown Vancouver
- A scenic coastal hop to Tofino
- A quick, harbour-to-harbour commute to Victoria
- A floatplane ride across the border into Seattle
It’s a uniquely West Coast way to use your points, and for many people, it’s also the fastest and most convenient way to get around the region. For Aeroplan collectors, this adds a fresh redemption option that’s both practical and experiential.
Tofino/Ucluelet are great destinations throughout the year
What’s Next for the Partnership?
During the media Q&A, Harbour Air’s Chief Commercial Officer Chris Fordyce confirmed a few key points:
- Aarning begins immediately, while redemptions start in early 2026.
- The partnership is expected to appeal strongly to business travellers, who have long wanted a more robust rewards option tied to Harbour Air flights.
- There are no reciprocal elite benefits between Aeroplan Elite Status and Harbour Air Club for the time being. There are no reciprocal elite benefits between Aeroplan Elite Status and Harbour Air Club for now, though future enhancements are possible.
Conclusion
Harbour Air’s entry into Aeroplan is a welcome addition for anyone flying around coastal British Columbia.
You’ll continue earning Club Credits and enjoying the practical perks of Harbour Air Club, while now layering Aeroplan points, and soon Aeroplan redemptions, on top of your everyday travel.
Whether you’re commuting for work, planning a weekend escape, or just want to try a seaplane for the first time, Harbour Air flights are about to get a lot more rewarding.
