InterContinental Hotels Group announces two new hotels in Quang Binh, Vietnam, expanding its portfolio with voco Quang Binh Resort and Crowne Plaza.

IHG Hotels & Resorts, a global leader in the hospitality industry, has announced a partnership with Hai Thanh Hung Investment Joint Stock Company and Vietnam Royal Investment and Construction Co., Ltd (VRIC) for two new hotels in Quang Binh province, Vietnam.

This new agreement will see the development of two properties: the voco Quang Binh Resort, featuring 68 villas, and the Crowne Plaza Quang Binh City Centre, offering 232 guest rooms.

The voco Quang Binh Resort, part of IHG’s rapidly expanding premium brand voco, is set to open next year. It will join voco Ma Belle Danang in Vietnam, which is quickly becoming a preferred destination for both leisure and business travelers.

Scheduled to open in late 2025, the Crowne Plaza Quang Binh City Centre will continue to represent the premium brand’s integrated travel experience in Vietnam, adding to the portfolio that includes Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc Starbay and Crowne Plaza Vinh Yen City Centre.

This dual-property agreement signifies IHG’s entry into Quang Binh, a province renowned for its natural landscapes, cultural richness, stunning beaches, and historical landmarks. The region is known for its attractions such as Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring one of the largest karst landscapes in the world.

Chris Anklin, Senior Director, Development, South East Asia and Korea, IHG Hotels & Resorts said: “It is wonderful to be expanding into Quang Binh – an exciting new destination for IHG in Vietnam. Creating new tourism experiences together with our partners perfectly showcases our intention to have hotels in the right locations with the right owners.

“We continue to grow in Vietnam and will more than double our size in the next few years to more than 40 hotels across the country. Crowne Plaza Quang Binh City Centre, centrally located in the city centre will offer purposeful spaces for work and leisure that appeal to the modern traveller while voco Quang Binh Resort with its thoughtful, unstuffy and charming experience will become a leading beachfront resort in the area. This destination debut will strengthen the presence of our brand portfolio in Vietnam, offering stay experiences for every type of traveller.”

Thang Hoang, CEO, Hai Thanh Hung Investment Joint Stock Company and Vietnam Royal Investment and Construction Co., Ltd said: “We have found the perfect partner in IHG, which is providing us with great value through its global expertise and systems, knowledge of new-builds and conversions, and a strong team with expert knowledge of second and third tier destinations in Vietnam.

“Quang Binh has traditionally been a domestic-led destination with a great opportunity for growth. Its magnificent beauty includes Son Doong Cave – the largest cave in the world and home to towering stalagmites – underground rivers, a jungle with wildlife, and a 116-kilometre-long coastline with picturesque beaches such as Nhat Le and Da Nhay. The entry of voco hotels and Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts in Quang Binh will elevate the attraction of the destination for travellers to stay and explore its many wonders.”

Crowne Plaza Quang Binh City Centre will be located in Royal Landmark, a mixed-use development featuring a commercial center. The hotel is conveniently positioned just 15 minutes from Dong Hoi Airport and a 45-minute flight from Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport, with easy access to Tan Son Nhat International Airport as well.

Set along a prime riverfront in Dong Hoi, close to government and business offices, the hotel will offer a variety of amenities, including four dining options, meeting rooms, a swimming pool, a fitness center, a spa, a Kids Club, and an executive lounge.

voco Quang Binh Resort will provide travelers with a private beach featuring stunning sea views and a range of amenities, including two restaurants and bars, both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a Kids Club, a spa, and a resort center.

Vietnam remains a significant growth market for IHG, currently boasting 18 hotels under six distinct brands—Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas, Regent Hotels & Resorts, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, voco hotels, and Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts. Additionally, there are 26 properties in the development pipeline.
