Delta Air Lines is stepping up its support for business travelers with the launch of its new Delta Business Travelers program. This initiative, separate from the SkyMiles for Business program, aims to cater to all work-related travel needs, irrespective of company size, and includes perks tailored for remote workers.

Expanding Horizons for Casual Corporate Travelers

The Delta Business Traveler program is designed to complement existing offerings like SkyMiles and SkyMiles for Business (formerly SkyBonus). Unlike the current business program, which is limited to organizations with a minimum of five employees and $5,000 in travel spend, this new program is accessible to small business owners, employees at smaller firms, and individual business travelers.

Open to Delta SkyMiles Members who identify as business travelers—whether they are remote workers, startup employees, or independent professionals—the program simplifies enrollment. There’s no need for employer verification. To sign up, users simply log in with their SkyMiles account, answer a few questions about their employment, and complete the registration process in one step.

Benjamin van der Horst, General Manager of Loyalty Partnerships and SMB Strategy at Delta, emphasized how the program enhances value for travelers. It is designed to work alongside SkyMiles for Business and the BlueBiz program with transatlantic partners Air France and KLM.

Key Benefits of the Delta Business Traveler Program

The program seeks to attract business travelers who may not have corporate arrangements with Delta by offering a range of enticing perks:

  • Hertz Five Star Status: Enjoy six months of Hertz Five Star Status with a fast track to President’s Circle Status.
  • Bonus Miles: Earn three additional bonus miles per dollar spent on Delta Stays and Car Rentals through the end of the year.
  • Co-Working Spaces: Access to the Industrious x Delta Business Traveler Pass provides a free month and a discounted rate of $99 per month for co-working spaces.

One standout feature is the discounted access to Industrious’ global network of over 200 premium workspaces for just $99 per month. This benefit is particularly advantageous for freelancers and remote workers looking to blend business with leisure. Research by Deloitte reveals that one in seven business travelers extended their trips for personal time at least three times last year, making this perk a potentially valuable addition.

With these offerings, Delta is positioning itself as a strong ally for the evolving needs of today’s business travelers.
